War Widows' Association
The War Widows’ Association is essentially a campaigning group and is recognised as the leading representative organisation for widows of Armed Forces Personnel where death is attributable to service. Our work encompasses those who have suffered bereavement as a result of service, where death of a spouse or recognised partner has been caused or hastened by that service.
The Association is unique in that it is run completely by volunteers. It does not have any paid staff or permanent offices and is very grateful to the Royal British Legion for providing a mail room facility. Day to day Management of the Association is carried out by a Committee of Trustees; many have day jobs.
The Association does not provide direct welfare services; however, we ensure that through national events and our network of Regional Officers that our members receive support, guidance and friendship.
