UPENDO WETU is a registered charity (1138092) based in Nottingham and it seeks to improve the lives of its members, promote racial harmony and support integration amongst the local and national population. We have our branches in Bradford, Leeds, Great Manchester and Norwich (Norfolk).
The Association is formed from local people who originate from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Angola, Zimbabwe, and Ivory Cost who reside in Nottingham city and the surrounding areas mentioned above.
The organisation has an official membership of 280 with an additional 150 or so participating individuals. These numbers are growing continually.
Incorporation & Governance
UPENDO WETU was registered as a charity in 16, September 2010 (Charity No 1138092).
It has a management committee of 4 people which meets every 3 months or on emergency meetings and minutes are taken.
UPENDO WETU has a bank account with Lloyds Bank and according to our financial procedures 2 signatures are required for cheques.
