Royds Community Association
Royds Community Association has its roots in the large-scale post-industrial regeneration programmes of the 1980’s. In 1990 Bradford City Councils Regeneration Department set up Royds to take advantage of the resources being made available through the Single Regeneration Budget mechanism. In total £36million of SRB funding was secured to regenerate run down social housing estates in Delph Hill, Woodside and Buttershaw – our current charitable area. Private and social investment in the area that occurred as a consequence of this is estimated to have increased the total value of regeneration to £100million.
In 2002 The Royds Community Association Charity was set up to continue the work of the SRB. An innovative Enterprise Park, funded by Yorkshire Forward, was built and transferred to the ownership of the Charity in 2010.
